New Mexico Red Chile
Love, love New Mexico red chile. This is a really easy recipe using store bought red chile purée. You can make this purée from scratch by roasting New Mexico red chile pods, boiling them for 5 or 10 minutes, processing in a food processor until smooth, then straining through a fine sieve to eliminate seeds and the skin to having left just the purée. Whether you make the purée yourself or buy the frozen purée this recipe will be the same. Use on enchiladas, burritos, pork and beef, in posole, for breakfast, lunch or dinner, the possibilities are endless! You will be addicted once you start eating New Mexico Red Chile!
Ingredients
- 1 28 oz red chile puree
- 1 tbsp granulated garlic
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp mexican oregano
Instructions
- Pour all ingredients into a medium saucepan. Stir to combine and heat for 15 to 20 minutes. Add water if you want a thinner sauce. Check for salt.
